An Impressive Cooperation With Customer From Switzerland

  Many Salesmen regard the successful order comes from large customers, but one question is that it would be more complicated and troublesome from the beginning to the end of the order.

  During the past 5 months, I have succeeded in dealing with 5 orders, all orders are for small quantity, but the process is relatively complex except for the order fromSwitzerlandcustomer. It is impressive and successful in my views, although it lasts nearly four months. I share this experience with you to thank customer’s supporting and help you to know how to follow up customers.

  The first time that we connected was on July 9th, I logined my email as usual and found the offer from Switzerland customer, the offer is very simple but detailed, so I thought the customer must be in the need of umbrellas. But I noticed the quantity, not much, just for 400pcs 5 folding glasses umbrellas, customer requested it is for promotional purpose and it should be customized. I studied customer’s requests carefully and quoted him soon. Actually, 400pcs can not reach to our MOQ, but I fight for it finally our company accept the quantity. The second day I received customer’s response and he asked for one sample, I was so excited and sent PI to customers immediately, the customer was also very dedicated and responded to me soon and sent me bank receipt, during the next several days, on one side we were busying with the sample, on another side, I chatted with customers about his business and country, he told me he was just for small business and he was entering the umbrella market for a new try. Of course, I also introduced some other umbrellas to him and confirmed all details about the logo and handle during this period. The sample was finished and shipped in 8days. We still kept in touch from time to time. But the customer did not answered me after he received the sample on the date of July 22nd. I thought the customer just asked for a collection of samples or use by himself, but I would insist on sending emails every three days, suddenly, I received customer’s email on the date of August 4th, customer explained why he did not contact me early and he showed much interest and favor of this sample, just the logo design is a little distorted, customer said he would send me the Vector Graphic, I waited for it all the time, but no any updates reached to me until two weeks later. When customer told he decided to place the order, I was inspired and set about making the quotation and PI. But another question occurred, because MOQ for the glasses box is 1200pcs, I explained and asked whether customer can add their purchasing quantity, but customer said 1200pcs was too much, 400pcs was enough for him and we made the agreement about the quantity of 400pcs at the beginning. On the next two weeks, we were trying to find proper solution finally customer accepted 400pcs umbrellas and 1200pcs glasses box. On the date of September 3th, customer did the 30% deposit. Until the October 20th, we finished the bulk production, during this period, customer did not urge us to produce the umbrellas on time. Finally, we did not catch the lead time but customer did not blame, he showed the understanding on the contrary. In consideration of the freight charges, customer suggested we just shipped 500pcs glasses box and the rest shipped him when he placed the next order, another 7 days past, customer paid the balance by twice. We received all the payment on August 31st then we shipped all the umbrellas. On November 11th, customer gave me feedback and said he liked the umbrellas and hoped we can give the invoice. After that day I sent invoice, we did not connected until now.

  This experience teaches us that we should emphasize all customers, no matter the order is small or large, complex or simple, do not give up any one chance, solve customer’s every questions with efforts, keep in touch with customers frequently.

                           A story of L/C at sight with a England Customer

 

The relationship begins in this April.and i logined in my email as usual to check the emails.one of email do not special at all located in the email box. And after i check the email,the first thing i did is to visit the website which the email showed.and then,story begins...

 

I have a habit to watch TV on the CCTV10 of China,and it is a science and education channel,and one of the program is my favorite ,<Wilderness Survival>,and the protagonist is Bear Grylls,who is the spokesperson of the brand we cooperate with, we can called it The Company.which has been established almost 50years.

 

After checking these information,i realize that we need to prepare fro more information to communicate with this customer.and that is what i always do from our business starting.the umbrella is a new branch for The Company,and what they always do is Travel Clothing and Accessory,and now they want to start umbrella business.but have no idea about the traveling umbrella.

 

Our factory Blueprint Umbrella Co.,Limited has been producing umbrella for more than 6 years,and we have kinds of umbrella can recommended to this customer,but after checking the website and the email they sent to us,i send two kinds of umbrella pictures to The Company,also with a detail email with several kinds of question in the email to inspect customers requirment. And received the reply very soon.

 

Then i start to learn to lead the customer to know the umbrellas,and narrow down the range of the umbrella type.after about 20days communicate,we determined the salesman samples in 12pcs,and of course not made in one time.we need to make just 1 piece and sent to UK,after the confirmation of the company,we started to make the left 12pcs.and all these things goes very well.and the company also made the test about the UV of the fabric,what we offered to the company is the fabric can pretend UV in 35-40+.but when the company person came to our factory when making the mass production,she told us that the test show can be +50.this makes the company very surprise.of course more happy.

 

And after almost 2month of marketing reaching and testing,we have received the first order from the company.it is not so big order, but i think it is a good start.and during the marketing time,the company also inquired two kinds of other umbrella for their sister brand,and it is golf umbrella and 2 folding auto open umbrella.and the order did not take so much time to confirm,and then we begin the payment way fight.after several times communication,we both have made some consessions on that,and the payment way decided to use L/C at sight.it is the first time we do L/C and it made me very crazy once but all passed,and we can accept L/C at sight from now on and can handle it easily.thanks for the person from the company who helps us so much in patience.

And when the company send J to our factory,I was very exciting but more nervous,not because of the products but I know that the company has much requirements on the audit and at that time we are beginning to apply the BSCI audit and now everything under progress and the company very look forward that too.i think it could be great helpful in our future cooperation not just the company,also with more and more cooperative partners.

During the mass production time,we also met so much problems,I think to work with a new company or an a new brank,every one has its own rules and standards,what we can do is to adjust our mentality to work with different people and after u finish one thing,all solute the problems,U realized that u learned so much from these troubles and these problems will not be your problems again in the future cooperation.

First order

    After graduation from the school this year, sales is my first job of the choice made by myself.

   After stayed at home for few days, I brought my luggage to the new city with a new start. I ever believe and believing I will become a women with strong heart.

   The first step with the new things is learning. When sometimes in trouble, I always looking for others help. Maybe this is a good habits while still have bad aspects. And I am trying to get rid of this habit and always said to myself, I can do this by my own.

   That is the day when I start on as a sales position for half an month, I logo into my email address and found a new message from ,my first order customer. She is asking for 1000pcs umbrella with attached pictures.

    Exciting feeling of course have. After a few email between us, she would like to place a golf umbrella sample order to begin our business. The golf umbrella model got from the customer is different from our common design. So the second chance talk with foreigner is come near. I was be very nervous with talk with stranger. No mention make a call with a foreign friend.

    With one cordial man voice start the phone call conversation. He helped me transfer the call to my customer. A sweet voice come into my ears. I was very happy to talk with her, or even reluctant to hang up the phone.

      Even there have meet some problems with the umbrella samples design and the logo design, but she always try to solve it with us. The umbrella logo design have been changed many times, but when I make a call to her and listened her voice.

     The bad feelings have been disappeared.

     She is the one with positive character and also she told me how to communicate with others on the call. I have a trick learn from her. With sweet smiling when talk with everyone.

     The umbrellas is in the production process. Now allow me show two pictures of high quality golf umbrella who have purchased by my sweet friend.

Hotel Umbrellas

We got many orders of hotel umbrellas this year. They are all from one of our key clients in US. They mainly deal with promotional items for local hotels. And we are one of their suppliers of hotel umbrellas . Now we can receive at least one order every month from them. And our corporation remains very stable. There exists many problems as well, but we always deal with all the problems with our sincere desire to get win-win, which is the key part in a long-term cooperation.

 

At the begaining of 2014, they got us a big order as much as 5000pcs hotel umbrellas. The umbrella is straight auto open double layer wood umbrella with British flag printing inside. But the whole order is not as smooth as expect.

 

Because we have the mold of British flag printing, we told them we will use the mold we have so they can save the mold fee. Unfortunately, they were not satisfied with the printing when we send the sample. It was the layout that they did not like. After failing to find other existing mold of the flag, we suggest to creat a new mold. But the mold fee is an extra fee for them. We stuck here as they need the new mold but were not going to pay for the mold fee because it was not in the budget. He is our regular client so we agree to share half mold fee with them. We made a new sample and they liked it very much.

Then another problem happened. A lot of time was wasted on the printing. Therefor we were going to miss the delivery time that we promised. We told them the problem that we faced and tried to negotiate with them to extend the production time. But they refused and needed the umbrellas very urgently. The umbrellas should be send to them on the day. Even though the factory was pushed to hurry, it was stil going to be late. To help the extremely urgency of them, we decided to deliver 300pcs by air first, then send the rest to them by sea. The proposal was accepted.

 

Troubles always happened during orders. We can not avoid them, but we can choose how to solve the problems. Facing all problems with integrity, sincerityp and atience is what we do all the time.
